The First Five for the NASCAR Hall of Fame

Today, NASCAR announced the nominating committee and the voting panel for the first class of the NASCAR Hall of Fame, scheduled to open next year. The members of these two groups are actually a pretty good cross-section of NASCAR, including NASCAR leaders, journalists, broadcasters, manufacturer representatives, track owners, former drivers, team owners and crew chiefs.

But that’s not really what I want to write about. These fine ladies and gentlemen are tasked with whittling down the whole history of NASCAR—60 years of the creators, innovators, leaders, winners and legends of our sport—to just five names for the inaugural class.

The 10 Greatest Pontiacs in NASCAR

General Motors, in an effort to paddle against the currents that are slowly sucking them down the drain, is shuttering the Pontiac badge for good. Inspired by Jalopnik’s 10 Greatest Pontiacs feature, I wanted to take a little trip down memory lane as we say goodbye to the red arrowhead with the 10 Greatest Pontiacs in NASCAR.
